Level 1 Class Dates: November 10-12, 2023

Level One: Fundamentals of SomaVeda® Thai Yoga, Crystal City, MO: November 10-12, 2023 (18 C.E. Hours) SomaVeda® Fundamentals of SomaVeda® Thai Yoga: Level One on the Mat.

Class Schedule:
Friday: Arrive between 5:30 pm and 5:45 pm. Class begins promptly at 6 pm and continues until 8 pm. Saturday & Sunday: Arrive between 8:30 am and 8:45 am. Class starts promptly at 9 am and continues until 6 pm (1-hour lunch break).

Description

This class is open to all persons and students from any background or level of training.

No massage license or bodywork experience is required!

PLEASE NOTE: This is an intensive, hands-on training class. Students will be expected to stand, sit, kneel, squat, and support their body weight for up to two hours. Regular participation in a movement activity (I.e., yoga, fitness, martial arts, dance, sport) before registering is recommended.

This course covers the basic concepts of hands-on healing in a balanced session using SomaVeda® Thai Yoga. This traditional, Indigenous medicine-derived system gives the practitioner a three-dimensional perspective on facilitating and participating in another person’s healing process.

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  1. Perform a complete 19 Asana beginner Vinyasa or flow with a partner and a 1-hour SomaVeda® Thai Yoga Therapy session (Thai Yoga massage).
  2. Understand the essential elements and theory of Classical Thai and classical Indian Ayurveda Energy anatomy and physiology as it applies to the body.
  3. Understand Basic Theory: Seven Chakras, Ten Sen or Prana Nadis, Wind Gates, Asana or therapeutic postures, Meridians, and Acupoints.
  4. Understand the concept of bodywork as a meditation.
  5. Understand the Five Traditional Treatment Attitudes of the Body.
  6. Understand benefits and contraindications for specific postures and applications for use in the clinical or professional treatment environment.
  7. Understand and be able to perform the basic protocol and principles of the SomaVeda® B.E.T./Bio-tapping technique (Emotional Freedom Technique) for balancing and clearing negative emotions.

This is an introductory course to the SomaVeda® Certified Thai Yoga Practitioner program (C.T.P.1). Graduates who complete this Level 1 course will receive a certification of completion and can practice learned techniques legally. Students must complete an entire C.T.P. course (164 hours) to become certified SomaVeda® Thai Yoga practitioners authorized to practice with the N.A.I.C.

Stephanie loves being a Mom to her now adult children, Tre’ & Lizzie, and being a wife to her husband Eric. She has first-hand experience of how substantial & profound SomaVeda Integrated Traditional Therapies® positive effects are on the individual and the family as a whole. Stephanie suffered debilitating soft tissue, skeletal & spinal injuries, and severe depression & anxiety from a life-changing work accident in 2015. The recovery took years & when she was finally released from the medical restrictions, she began her new life as a yoga teacher & somatic practitioner. Her mission is to help others help themselves through ministry, education & laying of hands, bodywork, or Chirothesia.

Stephanie has thousands of hours of experience as a yoga teacher,  graduating from the Sweet Peace Yoga Studio class in 2017. She specializes in spinal mobility, trauma & pain relief.
