Who Are We?

We are an eclectic community of ministers, medicine men and women, educators, healers, yoga practitioners, Martial Artists, and teachers who share ideals of community education and sustainable, energetic health and wellness practices based on traditional concepts. We constantly seek individuals with skills and temperaments who want to be part of our permanent staff and seasonal associates. During the winter season, we are a small staff and family who organize, research, and develop programs; design and improve facilities and grounds; publish and update our website; take care of our land; and arrange for and register participants in our programs. In the spring and summer seasons, our staff swells and is supplemented by volunteers who help students and guests in various creative ways like land and facility building and maintenance, garden projects, residence support, cooking incredible quality food, and assisting in facilitating multiple courses. SomaVeda® students and volunteers do much of the work to maintain the land.

We practice, express, and support sustainable living principles and practices such as Permaculture Community Supported Agriculture, and we currently eat from our three food gardens! We have full-time residential training and host a variety of seminaries, conferences, and workshops related to green and natural living, the evolution of consciousness, martial arts, relationships, psychology, and spiritual and religious studies.
