SomaVeda® Table Thai Yoga: Just because we are indigenous and traditional does not mean we are not innovative! SomaVeda® applications and procedures for the massage table, levels 1-5 a & b, 16 Hr per level. ) Featuring innovative work on translating and adapting traditional SomaVeda® Thai Yoga position treatment methods (Yoga Therapy Asana and Flows) for Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Low platforms, and the ‘Modern Massage Table. This beautiful SomaVeda® Thai Yoga Table Massage was first demonstrated by Dr. Anthony James nationally in the US in 1991 at the AOBTA National Conference in New Orleans. Unlike the Thai Yoga Massage Mats or mats commonly used on the floor, this work is appropriate for the workplace, corporate or industrial settings, as well as conventional yoga therapy, Ayurveda treatment, and Massage Therapy venues. Anywhere there is a preference clinically to use a “table” or “Raised Platform” is a suitable environment.

SomaVeda® Table Thai Yoga incorporates virtually every conceivable SomaVeda® Thai Yoga, Ayurveda, “Marma Chikitsa” and Yoga Therapy technique, Asana and Vinyasana. Learn how to do all the primary SomaVeda® Thai Yoga (Traditional Thai Yoga Massage) flows using any typical massage or therapy table for advantage and leverage. SomaVeda® Thai Yoga Table reduces or eliminates repetitive stress from common massage practice.

This work is similar to that practiced in virtually all of the 2000-plus Accredited Medical Hospitals with Orthopedic or Traditional Thai Physical Therapy departments or Veterans Hospitals in Thailand. We also incorporate methods given to us by Grand Master Anantasuk of the Anantasuk Thai Massage School, famous for its programs at the Wiangklaikangwan Industrial College under the patronage of the Thai King and Royal family. Dr. Anthony B. James is a recognized Ajahn- Professor in the Anantasuk school (Wat Po Association of Thai Traditional Medical Schools)

Independent SomaVeda® Thai Table Professional Certificate courses:

1) SomaVeda® Fundamentals of Table Thai Yoga: Level One: An introductory class that follows the curriculum and methodology of the SomaVeda® Fundamentals of Thai Yoga: Level One (Mat) certification class with a more specific and intensive focus on using Tables and platforms to do traditional Thai Yoga and or Somaveda® specific and unique applications and clinical adaptations. Course CEs typically take 18 hrs. This course is typically taught over a two-day or 2.5-day weekend.

This course is equivalent to the SomaVeda® Fundamentals of Thai Yoga: Level One (Mat) certification class. Upon completing this course, the student can perform a complete “Level One” flow and therapeutic protocol in a clinical setting on a Table or Platform. Additionally, the student will be conversant in the principles and body mechanics of applying Traditional SomaVeda® techniques to the “Table” type application. The “Short General Session” concept is covered in detail, covering the typical 19 therapeutic postures. A dedicated printed workbook with all illustrated postures is included for each student. Indications and contra-indications, as well as the safety of using the table in this fashion, are covered in detail.

2) SomaVeda® Ayurvedic Table Thai Yoga: Level Two: A professional beginner class that follows the curriculum and methodology of the SomaVeda® Fundamentals of Thai Yoga: Level One Table certification class with a more specific and intensive focus on using Tables and platforms to do traditional Thai Yoga and or Somaveda® specific and unique applications and clinical adaptations. Course CEs typically take 48 hrs.

This “Level Two” Table Thai Yoga (Traditional Thai Physical Therapy: TTPT )table course typically spans six 8hr. Days in length. This course is equivalent to the SomaVeda® Fundamentals of Thai Yoga: Level Two (Mat) certification class. Upon completing this course, the student can perform a complete SomaVeda® Therapeutic Day ( Seven individual and unique sessions) therapeutic protocol in a clinical setting on a Table or Platform. Additionally, the student will be conversant in the principles and body mechanics of applying Traditional SomaVeda® techniques to the “Table” type application. Indications and contra-indications, as well as the safety of using the table in this fashion, are covered in detail.

Even if you’re NOT a Massage professional, SomaVeda® Thai Yoga Table, under our program, can legally be practiced anywhere in the US!

Using the unique SomaVeda® philosophy, this course brings the idea of using a conventional massage table for therapy to the next higher evolution. This means more work and benefits to therapists and clients with less effort and risk of debilitating injury. Learn how to affect the whole person in this most portable of treatment protocols.

 

 

Thai Yoga Massage Chair instruction is offered as a module for our Certified Thai Practitioner (CTP), Certified Thai Teacher (TCP), Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor/ Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant (ALC), Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist (AYT) as well as ACNM College of Natural Medicine ASA, BSSc., DSNMPhD Ayurveda and or DSTIM degree programs.
